My diesels are ready for the snow!

I just bought 8 new snow tires and had them mounted on the 8 bundts thats I just refinished.

I haven't seen my wagon in bundts since the first week I owned him.

So now my diesels have matching shoes!

Nice Chad. Those bundts are nice!

What tires did you get for the snow? I just bought Nokians last week...

Forgive me Chad, but I think that looks a whole lot better than your other wheels. What a beautiful wagon you have, and it looks so much more proper with the Bundts. {and I don't usually like Bundts}
Sure do like that CD too!!!
Beautiful pics with the leaves and all........

Thanks guys. I bought Yokohama Ice Guard IG20's. I really wanted Blizzak WS-60's, but they were sold out nation wide in the size needed for the 14" bundts. The Yokohamas are supposed to be comparable but they're a full tread snow tire unlike the Blizzaks.

Thanks Jimmy. I decided today that I'll be putting the SLK wheels on the CD in Spring. I'll be sticking with bundts until I can find some AMG Pentas.

I don't understand why anybody buys blizzaks. I'd much rather buy a tire that is designed well enough that it can have winter rubber compound to the bottom of the tread, not be useless in the snow after 50% of the tread is used.

Nokian makes IMO the best snow/ice tires, funny thing coming from a country that is regularly covered in snow and ice, ... Dunlop Graspics are another excellent tire, Michelin Alpin series tires are a great compromise/Ice tire, ... Blizzak is just a name that still sells.

Pentas, eh? I seem to find a new set every day, so you shouldn't have any problems.

I've made it through 2 winters so far with my Michelin Destiny (Harmony in some markets) tires....prior to that I had Goodyear Assurance, which turned out to be crap, and got them replaced with the Michelins under warranty. While not "Incredible" in the snow, they do quite well, I've never gotten suck yet. Eventually when I have cash to burn I'll put snow tires on my bundt wheels and then during the summer I'll get the W140 style wheels with good summer tires on them.

Chad, your wagon has always looked great. For some reason I don't recall what wheels you had on it, since the Bundts look so proper on the wagon.

Just my opinion though, it might look even better with amber corner lights, US or European version won't matter since your wagon is already red.

Jeepers, tough crowd. The AMGs looked fine, though I'm not a big fan of chrome. Stupid Adsit...

I didn't have time to paint, but I did get some good used Winter Force tires mounted and balanced for $150. I love Nokian snows, especially the old 10's with studs, but on a tight budget right now.
Went to 205/70's, rides nice.

I have a hose and a garage. I also clean the undercarriage and use rubberized undercoat before the vehicles hit the snow. I've never had any car rust on me while it was under my care. The wagon came to me with a bit of rust, but that has been slowly going away as I get to each area for repairs.

IMO the trick to living in the rust belt and keeping your car safe is being more proactive than corrosive elements.
