Brakes Work....

Well, I hate kids, its a known fact.

I just got back from Lowes and the super market. I was going down the road that leads into my subdivision, going 35, the posted limit of course and all of a sudden a ball comes bounding out into the street. What do I do? I slam on the breaks and lock up the wheels skidding to a stop and the kid.. comes frign chasing after the damn ball! I was also going down hill(yes we have hills in FL) to boot.

I get out of the car to make sure the kid is alright and the mother is standing there in the yard on her cell phone yammering away. I yell to her " I see you've got the parenting thing down pat ya jackass, I almost hit your kid. Next time he might not be so lucky Pay the #$#$ attention to your kid!!!"

(I think the kid learned his lesson the hard way, big mercedes grill and a train horn blaring in his face, he was walking funny away from that one, shaken up but ok)

So I turn into my subdivision, a left turn and I hear a scrubbing sound from the right front...

GREAT!

Its too dark out to inspect but I think I done broke me a rotor...

I broke the left front rotor on the 240 while braking hard from 70 mph. Then after I figured out what it was, I limped it in 5 miles to work at about 15 mph. The sand paper on sand paper description of the sound is pretty accurate. On the plus side, since I was going so slow, I found a nice Snap On screwdriver laying in the road.

Sorry to hear about the drama Joe. At least it happened while you were close to home and didn't cause more of a problem.
