Heated Seat Retrofit?
Winters almost here and we all know how cold leather seats can be in the morning.. I've read that the heating elements out of a 560 slip right into the seats on a 300SD, does anyone have any photos of the actual heating elements? How about the wiring? Can I just pull the stock harness out of the 560, or do I have to make my own? Anyone have a photo of the switches as well? I live too far from the part yard now to just go and look for myself...

what color?
If your interior color matches, you might just want to swap the seats.
 Of course, the pattern may not be the same.....but only the hardcore w126 restoration freaks will notice.Were you planning on retrofitting the rear heated seats from a 560SEL into your 300SD? I have a 560SEL front seat in black that probably has the option. It will be a few weeks before I'll be able to see it though. I also have some rear seat switches if you do the rear seat.

I've heard there are kits available in the aftermarket to retrofit seat heaters into just about anything. I'm not sure what supplier offers them, but I've heard it's the same mfr that makes some of them for the oems.

Whenever I get around to swapping the interior from my parts car into my 380SEC, I plan on getting the heated seats functional as well. On the Gen I cars theres a small control unit under the seat- if the wiring isnt already there to plug into I may just run the necessary wiring to get them to work, I suspect you could just do the same.
