Camshaft removal OM603

On MBZ shop manual CD. For my 87 300SDL, the camshaft removal sequence is stated " remove bearing caps 1,5 and 6, shown with DARK ARROWS" . The dark arrows in the illustration are at bearing caps 2,3,4 and 7.

Is the sequence correct and just the light and dark arrows reversed in the text?

I tried to do a compression test...but coolant was spewing from cylinder number 4. I have the nefarious number 14 cylinder head. If I'm really lucky, it may need only a gasket, but since the PO replaced the radiator, I fear the engine overheated.

I'm amazed the car ran as well as it did.

Any tips or info to augment MBZ cd manual cylinder head removal instructions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Deja vu - http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=238590

The 126 CD manual has the arrow shading backwards. It's correct in the 124 CD manual.
