Something interesting on Ebay

Its a couple of cars ,if you search their auto parts area and look for the salvage cars section, then search mercedes.A limo service is selling their fleet of 91 350sdls ,3 cars with various problems ,another vehicle sitting for parts was a 300td ,rusty but a running wagon motor and other parts.I look up this section every once in a while ,I found a 78 300cd here once and it turned out to be in my area ,bought it and got it running within a week .I thought maybe someone would have a need for some of these parts.

I saw that a while ago. The SDLs could be nice projects. IIRC the one with the black interior has ASD.

I'm going to have to search that out again. I thought I saw a taxi service selling 4 of them in a dutch auction. I'll see if it's the same people. There were 4 bids before, so if this is the same people, there should be no cars left. hmmm

Yep, same people. If I wouldn't have just bought the 85 300D, and the Volvo 760, I would have gotten one.

I guess I'm not sure. I like the 350SDLs, but the one interior shot they show (the blue one) the interior is really ratty, they show a black interior that looks pretty good, one speedometer showing IIRC 321,000miles, and in taxi service? Might be a whole lot of worn-out. Not that they couldn't be fixed, but I'd rather have a good price on one that didn't idle all day and run short-hauls for hire. JMO. Bids start at $750.

I found my 84 300D there when I was in NOLA. Paid $600 for a car w/
a "bad trans", towed it home, bolted the cv axle back together,
and drove it down the road.

Sold it 2 months later for $3500

Why do they say "salvage title"? Are they salvage, or no title. since they were used as cabs?

IIRC the ad says that the titles are available, I missed the salvage title part which would indicate that they were purchased on salvage titles (or in some areas "rebuilt" replaces "Salvage" once the car is rebuilt and passes inspection).
