Paint code 900, lowered the front 2", adjusted the SLS for the rear, wheels are 16x8 with 225/50.

Hoping Santa will come with a new grill insert.

Beautiful! Just one thing, why is the inside of the wheel painted blue as well?

Get Hella H4's if you don't want the Euro look, those sealed beams are not worth it.

You most certainly do not need to defile your front headlight look with Euros. This is the proper way a W123 should look in the front:

The AutoPal H4's are very cost effective on ebay and the light output compared to the sealed beams if worth twice the price.

You guys with Pentas/Ronals are killing me!
Must have Pentas

Beautiful area you live in too!

BTW, what is the offset on your Ronals??

How did you lower the front and how does it ride now. I lowered a 535i with sport springs and swore I'd never kill a ride like that again. I love how the 123's soak up the bumps and would be nervous of effecting that, especially here in Vermont with pot holes and such.

Looks cool but thats not really important to me anymore.

I meant still keeping the US DOT look, but have the Hella H4 non sealed beam conversions instead.

I am also interested in knowing what method you used to lower the front end.
Thanks!

Sweet.

AMG color coordinated wheel centers back in the 70s/80s.

Lowered the front by cutting the front springs. I've got the equation for how much to cut for the amount of drop considering the coil diameter. The ride suffered more from the short sidewall tires than the shortened springs I think.

Wheels are painted to mimic the AMG wheels of the early 80's as said in a previous post. personal preference too. Same thing with the headlights.

Thanks for the compliments

I've still got quite a bit of work to do.

Vacuum is still wonky and the tranny flares. Don't want to mess with the tranny until I get the vacuum gremlins fixed, the tranny problem might heal itself, hah.

Dash lights are out because of that damn rheostat and the SLS is leaking on my driveway from the rear. Thank goodness for a parts car.

The one big thing that irks me is the doors are keyed differently from the ignition. I found this out when I was removing everything for painting. If you have ever taken the keyed handles off the car you will appreciate the PITA factor o doing it without the key.

Check out the receiver for a hitch. Managed to save the factory sticker when I sandblasted and painted it. Cool!

This wagon does belong in the cheap wagon club BTW.

Jay

Did you do the painting?
Looks like a great job.
My CWC entry does need a paint job itself, and I'm dreading the prepwork...

Hey youre somewhat close, hope too see you and the wagon at our next area GTG in the spring.

Was kinda disapointing that the front didn't come down more with the one link out wasn't it? I just did the same to a friends wagon and at first it seemed like it was still at the same height!
