Power Steering Pressure Hose

Mine just started leaking and given it's 26 years in service I can't complain. Just wondering if anyone knew a good place to buy one. I see the one on Fastlane, but it's over $80. Not bashing Fastlane by any stretch as Phil has been clutch in providing so many of my parts, but I know Fastlane wasn't my best bet when it came to suspension parts. Just wondering if anyone found a better place to pick this part up. I'm also thinking of buying oil cooler lines.

Thanks

I believe the pressure hose can be rebuilt. Find a suitable hose from an oil supply company, hydraulics shop, truck shop etc. Most stuff at NAPA and the like will not be the most optimal.

1 of the hoses on my gasser was just a piece of bulk hose, nothing special. I replaced it with a piece of hose from NAPA and it is leak free so far. The other hose was a fitted piece and would be a dealer part.

the return hose is low pressure and can be swapped no problem with non oe part, but the pressure hose is fitted and I don't really think it can be rebuilt

look at the fittings on the end. They are not crimped, right?

They are the same fittings, slightly modified, as those found on the wagon rear suspension systems.

Search for "SLS hose rebuild" and then determine if you cannot do this similar repair on this hose.

I would take the old pressure hose to a hydraulic hose specialist; they will take the ends off and make you a new one using the old ends if they need to. This will be much cheaper than getting one from MB.
