engine shock absorber r&r

The body of the engine shock is oil covered and the car is a rough idler so I am going to replace it.
My question is this: the parts sellers show the shock as one part and the mounting hardware as a separate part. Do I have to replace the hardware at the same time or is it just good sense to renew those parts too?

Have you replaced you engine mounts, if not you might want to do that too... You might as well just replace it all while your at it...

I bought the shocks, mounts, and the rubber bushings and reused the nuts and washers.

Phil at Fastlane/AllPartsExpress sells all the parts individually and also has a "mounting kit" I believe.

If the hardware is OK reuse it.O
On Mine the Rubber Part had seperated form the inside of the Shock Mount.I did not want to pay for new ones so while I was at the Junk yard looking for something else I got them for around $2.50 and the rubber was still good in them.

I replaced by motor mounts, engine shocks, and mounts and this did very little to fix my rough idle. All of these parts were due for replacement, but it wasn't until I adjusted my rack damper pin that my idle got dramatically better. It was super easy and I did not even need the updated pin. I only had to make a slight adjustment and my car has never been so smooth. Do a search on rack damper and you will find tons of info.
