For instance, I paid $3500 for my CD and I'm one of the higher paying w123 owners. As nice as your car is, it would be great to see another forum member buy it and take care of it, but you'll probably get the best sale price for it by touting its WVO capabilities on Ebay and CL.

I would say that you'll have a far better chance of selling here if you go crazy with quality pictures showing all the areas we'd look at in an "in-person" inspection. Some guys have even put up videos on Youtube that show the vehicle cold starting and idling.

Well anyway, good luck, it's a beautiful car.

Thanks Chad300tdt --- Your wisdom makes perfect sense...I looked on Ebay, and it was SAD-SAD what some of these cars are selling for! Good for the buyers --- but way bad for the sellers that appreciate and have the passion for these cars that 'we' do. At this point I'm ready to give it a try --- need to move it, so I can add another MB of a differant style.

So a question to the 'wise men' of this forum: How does one go about selling a W123 these days? I listed mine in the classified section, and yes I admit-I priced it way high....but as we all know, you can always come down, but you can never go up!

I'm wanting and needing to sell mine - so...what's the secret to actually making this happen?

Looking for advice---
Ok, your problem is simple: You asked for the stars, then lowered it to the sky. You have to get down to earth to get somebody to buy. You also have a very nice looking car but it's kind of a non-descript color and easy to come by in that flavor at a lesser price.
I tried to be realistic about my price and only ask what I would actually consider paying if I were buying it. Sure we want as much as we can get, but you will get nothing if your price "bang to hype" is out of whack.
I meant the above with the utmost courtesy [for a change.....]

Man, I can't wait to see this. I wonder if entails something that isn't exactly close to the ground.......
I'm so glad to be able to see reports on Squash and keep up with him. Of course that's because it's only been good news so far. Sadly, it won't always be that way......

I'm glad your having better luck then poor old Colin. I hear he's down to 3 cylinders and the B-pillars fell off......

Thanks JimmyL --- First of all, and by far the most important part of my reply is --- Don't ever worry about "courtesy" with me!

I appreciate your input, and if I didn't want honest input I wouldn't ask!! I'm going to re-do my ad, and it's time to come down to earth as to $$'s.
