Hi All,

Does anyone know what the correct operating temp is supposed to be on a 1980 300SD (W116). What does the factory say they should run at?

Should be 80-85C at full operating temp if everything is as it should be.

It can go up to 100 under a load like climbing a long grade, but it should drop right back to 85. Do not let it go over 120
