Mile stone hit today...
Well today was the big roll over, my 1983 300 SD now has 300,000 miles on the clock as of 7:35 this morning... I will change the oil tomorrow night and have new glow plugs I pick up next weekend and install.
What an amazing car the 300SD is, it still gets 30 MPG with 300,000 miles on the clock and just a fun car to own and drive. Doc.

congrats on the 300k. my '83 300SD has 422k on the clock and the odometer stopped working about 4 months ago. I wish you would tell me your secret on how to get 30mpg. Seems like when my odometer did work I was getting just under 20mpg. And I don' think I have the alda turned up too high either.

83 300sd

My odometer stopped with a PO at 217, he had it for two years so I can guess at the mileage of around 275. If he told the truth. I like my old car. Slow and steady wins the race.

Wow ... are the 1st gen w126's that much more aerodynamic than my w123 wagon? I'd love to be getting more than 21-22 mpg out of my 617.

I'm approaching the 200,000 mark ---- My SD will turn 199,000 on Wednesday of this week on a run from NC up to Ohio.
