I need a vacuum diagram for the 83 300sd. The car will not shut off, and there is no vacuum there. seems to be plenty on the system.

I checked those. Could not find one that went to the key. Traced this down to the heater system.
CCU Was working ok, but now it does not change the valves anymore.
On to the next broken thing.... it was working....Argh!!

The Start/Stop (Ignition Switch) vacuum diagram literally doesn't show you much. It has "Vacuum Source" at the top; "Ignition Switch" then "Fuel Shutoff Diaphragm". Literally, it's not much more than that. The steering lock has a vacuum switch mounted on it. From your description, I would suspect something has come loose with the vacuum lines where they branch out, near the fuse box.

I was looking to see where that vac cam from, to see if it was a loss completely or not. When I plugged the red/greenstipe line that goes to the ACC then the car shut off ok.
checked the valves down at the acc and one was leaking. But not that much I thought. Now the ACC supplies heat, runs the fan. But will not change the valves....
So I am assuming that it is either a large eneough leak there, or an overall vac supply issue.

Hmmm........Even with the red/green disconnected at the switchover valves, I did not see a problem with shut-off. Like yourself, I'm wondering how much vacuum is being supplied by the pump. Are you noticing any problems with braking? Usually an all-of-a-sudden vacuum problem appears after an oil change, etc. when a line is accidently knocked loose.

Before I rebuilt my vacuum pump, I didn't realize how potent the brakes were on these cars and therefore thought that wasn't the problem until using a mightyvac guage and determined it wasn't operating properly.

Many intermittent problems were eliminated when I spent ~$10 on all new flex fittings in the under-hood areas.
