My New Indy's lawn ornaments, AMAZING

My new indy's business and house are located within 50 yards of each other on about 5 acres of property. He's been working exclusively on Mercedes and other German cars out of this shop since 1970. Over the past 30 years he's amassed an amazing collection of Mercedes people dumped on him for various reasons.

He has at least 50 cars that I could see, some of which look like they driven there, parked, and he never touched.

The only cars I can recall with current tags were the black SEC, the W124 e300D, the 280ce, the 3 cars on the other side of the driveway, and the newer VW bug.

There are some nice looking Diesels in them woods...

I dig his Amazon (the blue Volvo coupe).. I just had to junk both of mine.

Oh, and the two Pagoda SL's... mmmm

I don't suppose he'd be willing to sell any of those for parts? Or just sell parts?

How did the 95 E300 get in that mix?

I'd love to rebuild that early 50s 220.

It could be a customer's car. It has current tags looks too clean to not be in regular use.

I spent a long while drooling over that blue pagoda.

Those Pagoda's would make excellent resto projects...if they are not rusted out from sitting in a dirt field.

From the pictures I took, I see at least 3 W116s.

That blue Pagoda is really calling my name. China blue with a blue interior, Nardi steering wheel, no obvious rust. I'm going to have to be more snoopy with this guy. He's pushing 60+ I'm guessing, and told me he no longer accepts cars, even if they're free, so perhaps he's willing to thin the herd.

I imagine a complete 280SL pagoda with a decent in need of restoration would easily bring 10k, so I'm probably dreaming.

I forgot to mention the white wagon is a very rare 87 300TD, with good looking white paint and a navy blue interior. The tags on it expired 4 years ago.

If you talk to the guy again I really am in the market for an '87 300D. I don't want the wagon flavor but the sedan. And of course, it can't be a dark color like black or navy.........
I would begrudgingly look into the later 2.5 liter turbo variety, but really would prefer to be a part of the '87 300D club!!

He should sell the Pagoda to you before it rots away to nothing. Keeping cars out in a field is just a slow death. Rodents ruin everything that the weather doesn't. You shouldn't really do that to rare cars, its one thing when its a commen 300SD or E320, but not a Pagoda or even a 300TD for that matter.
