Yep, if that's the situation and it's snapped somewhere inside the alternator ears.........the bracket has to be removed..........no other option.

It appears that the bottom bolt broke right above the threads, so I am not sure how much of it is in the alternator. I think that I am going to have to pull the bracket, but I want to get bolt 3 out to see it that is what I need to do.

The question is whether the remaining bit of bolt will rotate in the threads........or not. If not, then you'll have to get the alternator out of the bracket to have some hope of extracting the remaining bolt from the thread.

I guess I would have to see it. if you have the top alt bolt out then bolt 3 doesnt seem to matter from what I remember. Im not 100% sure you can get the bracket off the engine with the alt in place. are the bolts accessable with the alt there?

Do you have to pull the radiator, water pump, or anything?

Not to remove the other bracket.

Good luck.
