Are you supposed to use gasket sealer on these gaskets?
I need to change the glow plugs on my car, I've been told the crossover tube needs to come off. I've heard that gasket can be used, and to be careful, as it will drop as soon as the crossover tube is pulled apart. If that's the case, I guess no gasket sealer is used on that.
The next one is an intake manifold gasket. Thanks, Jeff 1991 300d, 128k |

Gosh, gasket protocol changes over the years... what do the instruction say on the gasket ? If a gasket has the blue stuff on it then it generally does NOT get anything else... but the instructions are the thing to follow...

This is whay I do, not spec -
I use a very light coat of gray RTV on the intake manifold side of the crossover tube gasket just so it stays in place. It doesn't bond to the gasket - rubs off easily with finger pressure. I install the intake manifold gasket dry. Sixto 87 300D |
