220d converted to a 300

This is what ive got, 220D with a bad engine.. I can get a 300 engine for it, but its mated to an auto trans. Does anybody know if the flywheel will bolt to the crank on the 300? Will the old tans bolt to the 300? Are there any huge problems that anyone can think of?

You will have to shorten the driveshaft, shorten the shifter rods, alter the transmission support bracket, make a custom exhaust, relocate the oil filter housing and change the rear end ratio (differential).

In effect it IS a huge problem.

It would be easier to go with a OM617.910 motor which has the oil filter in a non intrusive location.

Most likely a W115, W123 200/220D's were not imported.
