Question window switch removal and questions

What is the easiest way to get the window switches out of the center consol on a 83' 300sd? My front passenger window dosent try to roll up or down, before pulling the door panel i want to check and make sure it isnt a bad switch, any ideas on a good way to check if its the switch. Also the front driver side window moves side to side slightly is this a sighn of a problem to come? Thanks for any advice i can get.
