Rando 32 as fuel

I have been offered a supply of Rando 32 hydraulic fluid which I have been told can be used as a substitute for diesel fuel. Has anyone here heard of this? Is it safe? Will it work?

Why would you want to use it?

Well, it is free. I am running a single tank conversion, and, if this product is compatible, I would like to take advantage of the offer.

Well, check the vicosity and BTU output. I would worry about coking the injectors, and the exhaust toxicity vs. pump diesel, and smoke output.

Add turpentine at .5% of your free fuel,to stop coking.

Is Rando 32 hydraulic fluid another name for Diesel? Didn't think so.

Not only would it be harmful to your engine and injection system, it would be very illegal and bad for the environment.

I would look into as another forum member suggested the BTU and viscosity.

Also for the sake of reducing non helpful replies "say" you are going to run this on the farm or your own property.

It is your car and if you want to chance running it, I might suggest making sure there is no water in it and it is clean or at least filtered down to an absolute 10 micron.

That doesn't matter one bit, its still not a legal fuel. Off-highway vehicles still have emission and fuel system requirements.

The EPA, I don't know whats worse, C.A.R.B. or the EPA.
Sometimes the government needs to take it's head out of the sand and take it's hands out of my life.

If you are detered from using it in your car, you could always look into mixing it with your home heating oil. In some states HHO contains 10% used motor oil anyway (no distinction on syn or dino)

There are plenty of countries to choose from, nobody is forcing you to live under this government.
