Ground wire

1979 300D, Ground wire goes to fender wall does it also ground to engine block? If so Where?

Typically there's a large ground wire going from a bolt on the bell housing up to the firewall. The larger diameter your ground cables the better, especially in a diesel where you're dumping a lot of amps to heat glow plugs and run that huge starter.
