I'm looking at the passenger, front side of the oil pan; behind and above the tranny cooler hose --- is where I found the 2 tiny droplets of "green coolent" forming on those 2 little metal down "trusions". I can't see the pics, so I don't remember if those are bolts or what.

Speaking of coolent, I thought I flushed Coda out right after I bought her last year....would have been in late February or early March. I have to wonder if I did all that citric flushing to Elegent Madame. Hmmmmm.....I don't have my service records here at work.

I'm glad I have my job, but darn it, sometimes it does get in the way of working on the old cars.

Citric acid has been know to cause headgasket leaks. Thats the reason I decided not to do it.

Pics follow.

Anyone have any ideas on the plug? Weird, huh?

So, looking at the 300SDL Parts car yesterday, I saw this behind the passenger side headlight:

I think this part may rest below Coda's air filter "box", but that might actually be a different gizmo.

BIG PUSH on Coda weekend.....

My 2000 Dodge truck died this afternoon on the way home. I have fuel pressure to the injection pump and no fuel out of the injector lines.... Oh, well. I guess I better put Coda back together.

The list in the correct order, I hope is:
Put car on jack stands.
Motor Mounts
Serpentine Belt
New radiator
Transmission coolent lines
Edit --- New Glow Plugs because I have the manifold off
Intake Manifold
Injector Lines
Crossover tube

Hope I get everything done by Sunday afternoon. No time to pull the valve cover and replace the gasket --- have to do that later.

Someone wish me LUCK!!!

i've been meaning to ask....why all of those glasses lined up like that? are they different magnifications?

or maybe you're forgetful enough to keep losing them...

Different focal lengths. Everything looks perfect 5 feet away to infinity.

So, what end do I jack up first? The front or the back? Can never remember that stuff. I guess I could leave the rearend down.....

Over 200K miles on the 2000 Dodge Cummins.

Motor Mounts are NOT going well. Driver's side off, can NOT get the middle bolt in....might have messed up the threads on the arm

Renting a car tomorrow......maybe I should go buy a running Mercedes instead.

I guess I buggered up the threads on the driver's side motor arm (underneath) bolt. Went and pulled a replacement off the 300SDL parts car.

I'm considering moving to the eastern Dallas area, so you can help. This thread is re-surfacing.

With lows in Memphis that close to freezing you'll probably appreciate new glow plugs more than a new vacuum pump.

If you can snake your way to the glow plugs pulling only the cruise actuator, you'll have time for both jobs in one evening.

If only it were that simple. I guess you have forgot what stage Coda is in.....no fuel lines on her, no intake manifold, no crossover tube, no radiator, no radiator fan, buggered up driver side motor mount threads, etc.

Well, here's what I got done this afternoon.......

Pulled off the old vacuum pump. Here's a few shots of both of them side by side and the old and new part numbers if anyone is interested.

Then, I got the new serpetine belt installed. The old one was beginning to crack. Then I got the plastic fan upgrade installed and the fan shroud sort of in place. Look how clean it is down where the radiator goes.....

Naturally.
We all know what goes in next, right?
The radiator.
Well, look what Coda is getting.
Do I know how to treat my gal or what?
