New belt question?

I need to get a new belt for the alt. to fan. I have looked online and there are two sizes.

15/32 x 40.5" and 15/32 x 39.5"

Which of these do I need or are both ok?

Installing them on an 81 300d non turbo.

looks like it depends on engine serial number. prior to 12-067786, you use the shorter belt. It's best to go with a metric belt, from Continental or similar.

What size is the metric belt?

You want to remove an old one and measure it, many auto zoo's have a tool for this.
