nothing sounds as good in the winter chill as it does in the summer heat
but that doesnt mean it is a problem
I'm old and dont move well till wamed up either

Different oil will not fix leaks BUT BUT BUT
different oil will be consumed by the engine differently
my pickup eats up any mutigrade oil but never uses any ursa 40 weight
but then again the boat burns lots of oil of all types and
only has fake oil pressure by Lucas a gal at a time

If it doesn't like to start cold try adding a little Kerosene to the diesel fuel.
Consult your owners manual on how much to add.

Why does the tach not work? A bad OVP Relay will make the tach inoperative and degrade the idle and possibly degrade performance. Start the car and try to move the OVP a little in it's socket. If you hear an improvement, resolder or buy a new one.

Good point; the mechanical idle is pretty rough until it warms up..that would cause a more than noticeable difference!
The first time I unplugged my ELR on a cold engine, I freaked out and put it back on immediately, haha
