At your own risk. They're nice but NEEDY cars.....especially the 4matic....I don't think its worth it, the regular 300E is plenty good in the snow. We've had a horrifying winter here so far, and ours has done fine....never gotten stuck. Just put some weight in the trunk and good tires all around.

Thats a nice looking one you found there.....I'd be too worried about the 4matic though.

BodhiBenz1987 01-18-2009 05:42 PM

Kind of depends on what your circumstances are. How much does it cost and how much can you afford? I'm all for buying a car you know nothing about and using it as a learning experience. I just did that with my new 240D. But the cost was nothing for me, and the cost to fix it/mess it up/fix what I messed up is well within my means. As far as 4matics, I couldn't tell you much, other that it's a pretty car.

JimmyL 01-18-2009 05:49 PM

One thing it depends on is what that number is on the other side of the 9. ;)
And I would think with what you paid for your '95 that you might be done buying for awhile......

matthias08 01-18-2009 06:06 PM

oh....
forgot
its 3900 on the windshield...

but now the windshields says 2700.
{
EDIT}: && I'm Selling my sunfire for about the same price if not more than
what this car would be...

its got 233xxx on the clock. ALL RECORDS. i looked over them somewhat. i'm going back tomorrow to look again if they're open. the dealership is a pretty great Caddy Dealer just around the corner...

my fathers, secretarys, son-in-law is the sales manager (ya follow?)

I'm thinking they'll knock off @ least another 700 for me. i'm thinking maybe this will be a 2K or below car?! if so i may jump pending how it drives tomorrow or next day...

this car & the one owner 267,xxx 87 560SL in the back ground were traded in on a new Caddy CTS-4 3.6L (( $49K CTS?! ))

How much? What are the miles?

It wouldn't hurt to have a 4X4 in-the-house, when you need one.

matthias08 01-18-2009 06:16 PM

BUMP.

See post above.

i do believe we posted @ around the same time

Oracle12345 01-18-2009 07:55 PM

its a good car but be aware its much more complicated in terms of how they do things.

if you plan to do the work your yourself then in terms of the fuel injection system and other systems. its gonna be more expensive to maintian too

babymog 01-18-2009 08:05 PM

Run away. I had one new, was never dependable. The problems get expensive too, since many parts are unique to the '90-'93 4matic, and internal/external transfer case leaks are one of the many expensive repairs.

If everything is good (which IMO is a temporary condition), $2k is probably a fair deal. There's a perfectly good '92 4matic in my local u-pick yard, was apparently not worth much.

matthias08 01-18-2009 08:16 PM

well... if i get this one... which is rust free

i may have to go to the land of yellow and blue sporting my scarlet & grey to get the goods from the one up there as well...

i will say i'm afraid of this car... in a big way...
but wanted to get opinions first.

JackG 01-18-2009 08:20 PM

Do you really need to ask???????????

If so, pass

babymog 01-18-2009 08:30 PM

I was raised in Upper Arlington (Columbus), both parents went to OSU, I'm just serving my time, think I'm being punished (but oh the summers on the lake).

matthias08 01-18-2009 08:39 PM

ohohoh. :)

lol
well... i go to OU in Athens :/

hopefully transfering to OSU or Case Western here soon.

JimmyL 01-18-2009 08:51 PM

I'd forget about that 4-matic and concentrate on that 560SL.....;)

matthias08 01-18-2009 08:58 PM

um. a 270K 560SL for 5K?
