So, the horn on my 300sd Turbro '84 stopped working. I checked the fuse, and even took the cover for the horn off and the cables were all secured and it seemed like it should be making contact. What else would I have to check so I can fix the problem. Thanks

Try connecting the horn directly to the battery. If it works, you know it's the switch or the wires. If not, the horn is bad.

Been a while, but my recollection is that the switched path for the horns the ground. Horns always, or at least when the key is on, have 12V going to one of the terminals. Horn switch closes ground path to activate.

Well, I meant that I took the cover of the steering wheel off to check connections. Not quite sure where the horn itself is. New to this mercedes, and I haven't gotten my hands dirty on it yet.
