interchangeablity ? D to TD

will the doors from a 123 D fit onto a TD?

front and back.

DeliveryValve 01-20-2009 09:23 AM

Just the front doors interchange.

mobetta 01-20-2009 10:45 AM

the rear doors are the same below the window.

In other words, they won't fit.

mobetta 01-20-2009 01:19 PM

well- they'd fit- just the window wouldn't seal on the back half. :P

The only reason I mention this is that I believe if someone needed to, the could take the window channel, etc. from a TD and put it on a D door- like if your wagon doors were rusted out on the bottom and you could only find/already had a door from a sedan. or reskin the TD door.

not saying it would be easy, just possible.

No the rear doors won't fit. The wagon's rear doors are different from sedan's rear door. The top edge of the wagon rear door extend several inches past where the sedan door end. But everthing from the front door and front seat are interchangable from the wagon to the sedan, sans the SLS parts.

Oh but that is still way down the line
step #1 get it home
step #2 get it started
step #3 evaluate running condition
step #4 ponder the saying "there is nothing more expensive than a
cheap Mercedes"
Step #5 gloat for having bought a TD for $100:D

Hey Jack -- if step #2 fails, there's also an engine with 185K miles on it in the donor car. ;)

So Jack do you need rear doors or something? ;)

I've got both from my 84 wagon I parted out awhile ago still.

I've got both from my 84 wagon I parted out awhile ago still.

It got side swiped and both pass. side are damaged beyond
what would be fixable.

If I do keep it for a running beater, I may put doors on that side so
I can use them. I didn't try the back door to see if it would open, but
the front still opens from the inside.

one thing at a time.........

Johnhef 01-21-2009 07:40 PM

I dont have the front one, I saved the other three off the car. Next time you're in the area, swing by and take a look.
