1985 300SD Water pump replacement

Hi All,
Thanks for all the advice on replacing the water pump. One last question, I have to remove some belts to get the pump off, no? Any tips for doing that/replacing them when done? Do they need to be retensioned?
Thanks!
Jim

Thumbs up

Yeah need to remove belts and fan to access.

Spray bolts with some penetrating oil such as Liquid Wrench or PB to get them to come out easier. You will lose coolant so good time to flush the car and replace hoses as necessary with the belts.

Review posts on how to remove tension on the belts as they're not auto tensioned and stuff can be broken easily.
