Did the Mercedes 123 chassis have 86 model?
Did they make an 86 300d 123? Any numbers on how many?

Depends entirely on what you call a 1986 model. If you mean cars assembled in 123 I would bet the numbers are in the hundreds. Mercedes sold crate delivery vehicles which could then be assembeled at the destination country. Essentially you could have a 1989 W123.

The 1986 model year for the W123 consisted entirely of wagons.
5x200T 31x230TE 14x280TE 6x240TD 4x300TD 3x300TD turbo Good luck, you have a 63 in 2,696,915 (1:42,808) chance of finding one. Bets are they were all special order for people high up in Europe and/or Africa. |

to all,
i'd guess it depends on WHAT you mean when you say a "1986" W123. when i was stationed in South America ('89-'91) with USASOCOM, there were numerous UNsold 300D/300TD sedans/wagons still for sale in the capitol, that when SOLD were being "titled" as 1989/1990/1991/???? models. (i THINK that the cars were being assembled "in country" from parts shipped in in container lots at some unknown date.) wish i had been smart enough to buy a wagon with "manual everything", down there including a 5-speed manual trans. alas, i was NOT that smart. yours, texasnative46 |

Maybe the new administration could lease the Rotunda to Ford, GM or Chrysler. |
