It's the black box on the driver's side fender with two plugs and a strip fuse under the cover.

would a bad relay cause the glowplugs to not work and the glowplug light on the dash to not light up? the first start up of the day (morning) is usually really hard and . it will start and die as soon as i stop turning it over
but if i give it 1/4 to 1/2 throttle it will start. would this be cuased by glow plugs not working right

It could be a bad relay........or it could be two or three bad glow plugs. You'll need to make some tests with a ohmmeter and/or voltmeter to be sure.

Go to dieselgiant's website and follow the procedure for testing the glowplugs.

Follow the wires backward from the GPs to the box where they start.
The #2 GP has the light attached to it (I think) and it that wire isn't good
the light wont come on.
Listen for the click of the replay about 30 seconds after you turn the key
to the GP spot. If it doesn't click, it could be bad.

I just not two weeks ago changed out my GPs. Starts down to -3* now
without being plugged in.

MEter the plugs to see if they are even good. I had 4 bad plugs and my car
wouldn't start at all even on warm days without the GPs.

Good luck!
