You need way more choices than those listed.

Yeah, where's "Sachs-Boge"? That was OEM to the car....
I used Bilstein HD's on mine....

You really ought to have separate categories for Bilstein comfort and HDs. I bought comforts but now regret it - should have gone with the HDs.

I'm curious to know if anyone's had to replace replacement Bilsteins (i.e., not factory installed Bilsteins) due to defect or wearing them out.
Did any 80s MBs come with Bilsteins or did they all come with Boges? Sixto 87 300D |

All three of mine have Bilsteins that were installed under my ownership (no more than 3 years ago) and are still good as of today. The '96, done about a year ago, still had the factory original Boge shocks. I interviewed the three POs of the '96 and all swore they never replaced the original shocks, which were still in fair condition.

Actually Sachs-Boge were installed at the factory.....I removed them from my car a few years ago....they had the MB star on them....and were completely dead.

Coda has cheap Wagner. They are about 10000 times better than what I took off 10 months ago (worn out).

I have whatever was installed when I bought the car. They work great but I have a pair of Bilstein's from the 80's that are new.

I believe that the boges and bilsteins were both installed at the factory. I don't think the boges last as long though. I have replaced lots of shocks, mostly bilstein but have never worn out any that I installed.
