Head gasket bent in shipping, can it still be used?

I know the answer to this, I think, which is no, but I just want some confirmation. The head gasket I ordered for my 220D arrived today, and it has been bent right across the ring for the No. 4 cylinder. The metal ring has a kink in it on both sides. Can this be used?

I don't think you can get a definitive answer...........as it would depend on whether the kinked area is prone to an early failure.

But, if there is any risk at all...........do you really want to take it?

I do not, and I've already called to get an exchange. I think that sealing ring is a pretty critical component, lots of pressure and heat there. I'm not even sure why i aksed inthe first place , just to make sure it was unusable I guess.

Above; the correct answer.
There would be way too much wasted labor to replace it if it leaked and ounce it was used how could you get an exchange?
