Rust free front fenders should be easy for you to get down there. IMHO your better off replacing at least the drivers side. Since you go to the junk yards you could probably even find a 904 blue one.

its hard to find a w126 now.. before it was hard to find w123's and 126's were plentiful.

The w126 I found and got the roll box from had a nice drivers side fender but in burgandy. If its cheap I'm going to nab the fenders and strip the paint or just send it with the car when it gets painted. I didnt open the trunk on that one, I will tomorrow

I'd get or borrow a cheap spray gun and spray the inside of the fender 904, than mount it and let the body shop sand it down and paint the outside. That way they don't charge you for mounting it, and painting parts you only see when the hood and door is open.

I left a good LF fender behind today. I think I may go back for it, could be a good idea to stockpile 126 fenders due to how many I see that are rusted.

The 300SD's can get 24-30 depending how you drive....and thats with the ever so rugged 617.... not the frail 603. *flame suit on*

I drove one POS na S class and I think it ruined them for me... I'm sure if I drove a nice example, I'd be hooked.

I'm certainly soured on the 606 in my '95 with all these glow plug issues and difficulties getting parts.... but I will muddle through and see how it runs when I'm done with all this.

At this point I wish I would have read up more and gotten one of the 124 with the turbodiesel instead of my 606.... live and learn.

the W126 has a lower coefficient of drag than the w123. The diesel helps with the fuel consumption by being more efficient than the gas engine. Which we all know. But, ya know, the 603 is a tad bit more powerful than a 617 and that extra legroom in the back is nice
