Doorlock actuator

I got a door lock actuator from Phil today but I have a question about it because it has a black plastic piece attached to the actuator shaft that has two vertical legs that I suppose the lock rod threads into but there is no provision to secure the rod to the actuator.
My originals have a translucent cone that has a positive snap fastener to hold the threaded rod end.
Is any one familiar with these and can comment on the right way to connect them?

It should have an outer sleeve that slides up/down. Slid down, it should be loose enough to get the rod in, slide the sleeve up and it should grip the rod tight.
