Can anyone recommend a good diesel mechanic in the Columbia, Missouri area?

I've got concerns that are beyond my skill level and/or tool range.

I'm in Columbia, what kind of problems are you having? I actually haven't taken mine anywhere since I bought it; although, I believe some people take their MBs to Tom's Imports on the Business Loop as they work on foriegn cars. I have heard both good and bad about Tom's and think that you don't really need to take it there just because it's a foriegn car. My only experience with them was once when I called to get a price check on a headlight lens - when the guy finally called me back and gave me the price I told him thanks and that I would check around - then he promptly hung up on me - apparently he was mad that he bothered to price check and then I didn't buy it on the spot. Anyway, tell us what your dealing with and we can go from there.

interested in compression test. possibly replacing or retooling the injectors, setting injector timing, possibly motor mounts, definitely something clunky in the upper control arm arena on the passenger side, general "helicopter" effect in engine.

some of this i can fix in the right facility. but timing and time are factors.

I've got family in Mountain View, but that's 4 hours or so away.

Been to Tom's for parts. I hear enough crazy stuff about the guy to be leery. Not to mention things were tight last month when a glow plug went out (the camel-back-breaking-straw) and I bought the 3 I could afford at that time. The young employee suggested changing all 5. I went back two days ago and bought the other two only to get chewed by the owner for not changing all 5 in the first place. Despite telling him of the financial problem at that time, he wouldn't let off. I think I'll keep that as my goto place for parts in an emergency. He can chew his own ass.

I would like to take it to Walt's, but their reputation for expense and going beyond the requested work schedule without expressed permission leads me to look for alternatives. They do have a good reputation for their work, though.
