vacum thingy on the IP, anyone wanna verify?

hey all, so i decided to get into my IP on my 617 engine to remove the rack limiter and adjust some settings, and im just wondering what this little white plastic valve is for?

im also wondering if anyone has tried to make a new oil filter setup before? its just an idea as its gonna be kinda tight in the little mazda engine bay where this is going. im thinking a piece of 1/2" steel plate, tapped for the fittings from the aluminum, then run a remote filter head on the fender somewhere? shouldn't be to hard to tap into the line for a feed to the turbo, and a fitting for the pressure sender? im pretty good with fab work, and im sure it can be done, just wondering if anyone else has tried it?

just right over here with a couple hoses running out of it.

Vacuum control valve for the transmission. MercedesRover here makes an adapter plate allowing for a remote oil filter.

would i be able to run the valve with just full vacum to it, then strait to the tranny? im trying to eliminate the valves on top of the valve cover.

that would be sweet if someone makes a plate for that

Don't forget a new oil stand gasket... The plate is worth it alone if it gives you access to the back of the IP for adjusting torque control.

read on the forum for info on that valve, but no, you can't just give it full vacuum. It adjusts the vacuum going to the tranny according to throttle position to keep shifts smooth at different engine loads
