Ole Smoky

My 1982 300d runs great. However, she smokes pretty good after running at highway speeds (60-70mph) Once at the bottom of the freeway ramp she'll smoke after a few seconds. Once you get going again the smoke clears up and you can hardly see any. I was wondering if this could be rings or valve seals. The engine has great power.
Oh yeah, I bought the car last year after finding it parked in a garage where it had been for the last 10 years.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
