Which AT Modulator Valve do I buy?
 

I have a 722.405 transmission in my 1985 300D and I can't figure out which AT modulator valve to buy. By all appearances there are 5 or 6 different colors available, plus screw in or push in. Anyone know which one I need?

What color is on there now?

I think my 85 Federal has black. I know for sure that the green is NOT what you want, thats for the 722.315.

Make sure you have tried replacing the cap and o-ring on the modulator before you replace the whole thing (unless you know its broken for some other more obvious reason).

And when you put it in, check out the modulator adjustment article in the Wiki. You need to set the right pressure on it when you put it in.
