Myrtle got a new bosch starter, and a new 49 size battery today

Finally solved my starting problems with a new Duralast 49 size battery, and ordered a new bosch starter from MB parts warehouse. My old battery didnt even begin to pass the battery test at autozone. Now she starts like a dream. Charging at a full 14V too!!! Woohooo! I also just won an ebay auction for a set of new bosch fog lights, and a mercedes emblem license plate!!!

Don't know what you paid for the starter, but this forum is made possible by the parts sales. Top toolbar, buy parts, fastlane. Not sure how competitive the prices are, yet. But I think I would spend a few dollars more to support this forum, which has saved many people many dollars.
Glad your 240 is feeling better, but shouldn't you be charging up around 17v?

I dont think 17V would be good, I dont think I have ever seen any vehicle charge at 17v, its usually 13-15. Infact, my alternator has a decal on it that says 14V 55A. but I am not that familiar with MB cars yet. You may be correct. If so, I guess I will need to troubleshoot the VR, Alt. Brushes, or a new Alt. My starter was $175. I think its great to support the forum, but MB warehouse has gotten me much better prices, and for some reason, I always pay for the cheapest UPS ground shipping, but every order Ive made, which is about 9 of them, has made hear either the next business day, or 2nd business day. Lightening fast shipping. If Fastlane can do that, then I will for sure buy from them instead.

Iam happy to hear that you got your 240 up and running again. But I think you are missing the point of what CMBDIESEL was saying about where to purchase parts.

This Forum has saved me sooo much money with all the help I have recieved either directly or indirectly. This Forum would not be here If there wasn`t some form of income to support it. which in this case PARTS sold through either Fastlane or All Parts Express.

I have ordered parts from Phill, say like this morning, and I will most times get them tomarrow here on my front porch around 10AM or so, delivered by Big Brown. UPS. order them on friday, and I recieve them on Monday.
There can be times when there is a special order or the supplyer is out. Not very often.

You can call Roy or Phill and get real time help from MB guys. not too sure the Mc Parts guy knows much about MB`s.

It`s your call where to buy.

Charlie
