722.3xx modulator seal replacement question
so I've found one of the transmission leaks (85 300D) is the modulator oring.
I have a few questions that maybe someone whom has been here before can help me with. How does the modulator come out? (unscrew it?) do I need to re-set the pressure, even If I am just replacing the oring and using the same modulator? will I need a new "pin"? thanks

It is retained by a plate held in by two screws. Once the plate is removed, the modulator should pull out.
Quote:
If you have a plastic pin, odds are at least even that you will break it when you remove the modulator. Pulling the modulator straight out will decrease the chances that you will ruin the pin. |

thanks- I reckon I'll wait to make a trip to the dealership for the proper parts ( oring and pin) before I pull it. it may be the only time I get out of there for less than $20!
It seems that I have everything on hand to build a gauge setup (per DD's great DIY), if needed. I'll do the repair, then test drive and go from there.
