Base adjustment on VCV

Hello does anyone out there know the procedure for the base adjustment on my VCV? The car is a 81 300SD Cali emissions. I cannot find it in the archives and I dont have a fsm :(. The problem I am having is my car is flaring when shifting from 2-3 and 3-4. 3-4 is worse. This all started occurring basically overnight. The car does not flare when not given very much throttle. Only under high demands does it flare between the shifts.

Had another thread going and user sixto has been kind enough to help me but we've drawn ablank. Link to other thread: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=246557

Any help would be very appreciated!!!

Basically move the throttle to WOT and adjust the VCV linkage to where it barely touches the stop pin. If the guts of the VCV haven't been screwed with it shouldn't need adjusting beyond the linkage.
