where to buy this hose?

It's the 3/4 inch??? heater/coolant hose that rides over or next to the oil filter case. Connects to the head and back to a metal line. Mine ruptured this morning on my way to work Made a couple calls locally for the part but no luck.

Btw. I snagged the pic from another post Kudos to the original pic taker

You'll probably have to get it from the dealer if you want it fast, otherwise its online for about $5-10....figure 15-20 at a dealer.

You won`t find that one from the Mc Parts houses, that will be a dealer only item. It has some pretty tight twists and turns to it, not sure a spring could be inserted and made to work.
Some things not worth to cheapening out on.

I took a look at mine and as a temp fix you might get buy with an formed "L" shaped piece of Heater Hose like the sell at O'Rilleys or the othe chain part stores.
Cut it similar to the 90 degree bend that comes out of the Cylinder Head with the long part pointing up. Leave a lot of slack on the part sticking out and run it over the top of the Oil Filter Housing Lid.
If it is still rubbing on the linkage of the Transmission Vacuum Switch on the IP tie it back with wire or strong string until you get the correct one.

I have actually seen a patch on this hose using parts from Advance or some place such as that. They sell an pvc(?) hose coupling piece that fits inside the hose and is then clamped in place.

I tried the 2 MB dealers in town and they need me to either come in or they can fax pictures of what they have or can order. None of the local parts houses carry it either. Luckily I have a parts car handy and pulled the hose from it. 10 minutes later and the wagon is back on the road I'll order a new one from Phil and keep the parts car hose as a spare.

Someone that can't afford a proper heater hose from the dealer probably shouldn't be driving a MB in the first place...

I have not tried the hose I suggested as mine is OK so far. It will work but the hose with a single 90 degree elbow will have to be routed over the top of the Oil Filter Cap.
But there it will interfere (unless the hose is long) with removing the cap and Oil Filter. So, I only suggested it to get his car on the road until he gets a new one.

When I was looking at the "Y" shaped piece on the Fire Wall I was wondeing what to replace th Y piece with if it should stat leaking; as it appears to be made of steel.

If you cannot find the correct one (the reason the Thread was started was he could not find the correct one) in a resonable time and you still want to drive your Car something has to be done.
And, who is to say that the Dealer will have one in stock!

Not sure what hose you're looking for, as I can't really see the picture, but I found many of the heater hoses here

911,

You nailed it It's not about buying a dealer part..it's about getting back on the road asap. I'd use a bulk line heater hose if I could make work but that sharp turn next to the oil filter housing nixed that idea. Luckily I had the spare that was in serviceable condition I have access to another parts car if this one craps out as well before I order a new hose. I might go with replacing all the hoses as they are probably the same vintage. Does anyone offer a complete heater hose replacement kit? It might be a great time to do a citrus flush. Just add a bit of Vodka and make a party out of it
