Getting ripped on Diesel prices

Noticed gas going up a bit to $2.09 and diesel coming down to $2.49

Looked up the 'futures' at nymex.com for gasoline and heating oil. Gasoline at $1.30, heating oil at $1.18

Why are we paying so much? I'm sure trucking is down with the economy, nothing but continued greed from big oil.

Point is - We're dealing with a huge monopoly with monsterous profits. Free to charge what they want, where they want and to whom they want.

PS - Just sent Exxon/Mobil an email telling them how cheap diesel is in Colorado.

$2.25/gal for diesel down the street from me. Diesel is an essential for many businesses, they will pay it. Plus road taxes as diesel is prodominately used in large vehicles which in theory do more damage to the road.

Us who drive a diesel as personal transportation are a underrepresented consumer who politicians and oil companies care little about.

Someone's ripping off you for sure. Diesel prices around here sunk about three months ago to lower than gasoline again (where they should be!). I expect it to get lower yet:

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601089&sid=amFNefyQYmsY&refer=china

Quote:
March 3 (Bloomberg) -- China Petroleum & Chemical Corp., Asia’s biggest refiner, plans to boost exports of diesel after domestic demand of the fuel dropped 30 percent in January.
China’s so-called apparent consumption of oil products, including diesel, fell 16.6 percent in January
A gallon of diesel is now $4.47 here

Just filled up for $1.91 here in Wichita, KS. Gas is 1.89. So Its about the same. I am hoping to start making B100 soon as it warms up here. I cant wait to fill Myrtle up all the way from R to 1/1 with about $15 out of pocket for making my own B100. Im not down with WVO, dont want a dead IP, or coked Injectors. I am sending BgKast my injectors this thursday to have monark 261's put on, dont want to coke them up with WVO garbage. I could do the 2nd tank thing, but I have this vision of getting this b100 right, then selling my 1951 Ferguson tractor and getting a small diesel tractor, and getting a diesel truck and running all 3 vehicles on B100. Man I need to find a diesel push mower too!!! LOL!!!

I'm on 100% bio-diesel down here. We made 1,800 gallons last year and will excede that this year.I don't know where you would find a diesel push mower but they do make diesel riding mowers.
Since the price of Methanol went down we are making our fuel for about 65 cents a gallon of course that doesn't count labor.

x2! It's just like health insurance...medical bills are ridiculous because they can be. Most frieght companies will just pass the extra cost along in shipping fees, so they could care less.

I'm happy that it is almost the same price where I am. I'm thinking that by the end of March it might even be less.

Hopefully I can buy another MB before there is another diesel craze, whenever that may be. If you ask me, the 124s around here are still overpriced...good if I ever want to sell mine, but I don't plan on it anytime soon!

As long as the demand exists the price will parallel the demand. OPEC recently stated they were going to reduce production to raise the price of crude because it had fallen so much. I understand all that, what I don't understand is the last time oil was $30 a barrel gas was about a dollar a gallon. What gives?
