removing shifter wood panel

How does this center wood panel around the shifter come out of the car?
this is a W126.

Pull ashray out, remove two Phillip's screws inside. Remove ashtray casing. Pull out the plastic change tray. Then (most important) slide the center console wood forward as there are tabs on back side. The fader connector is first to come off then the others.
