W126 Gen I Dash Removal WriteUp....TBC

Im in the process of swapping out my old beat to all hell dash in place of a *mint* replacement..... Write up and detailed photos to follow once complete but I thought I might put some of them up...

Question: Now that the dash is out, I am planning on swapping out the 3 pods.. is there anything else I should change out?? The A/C hasn't worked since I got the car but I dont know if there is anything behind the dash that I should check while the dash is out.... Thoughts?

PS.. I honestly have to say that taking a dash out of the W126 is a walk in the park.... NO KIDDING.. Taking the dash out of my Honda Civic was harder... I did the removal, first time ever in under 1hour.

One more question... How much of an increase in value does a car have when the dash is crack free? Assuming everything else is constant..

I swapped out the dash in my mom's 300sd, It's easy getting it out. It's getting it back in correctly that can prove to be a bear. It's kinda hard to get the center bolt below the windshield lined up.

I don't know what $$ value increase a new dash will give, but compared to your old dash you'll be adding salability. Your old dash was so bad that if I were looking at is as a potential purchase, I'd pass over it for one with a better dash.

Now you'll have a vehicle that won't get passed over.
