'84 300td wagon wet inside!

OK, who is the 123 wagon expert on this site? Just picked up an '84 euro td wagon and the PO let the inside get wet so the whole car smells moldy! Spent the day removing carpet, shampooing, vaccuming, wet vacuuming, detailing etc. The front two sunroof drains are free, the engine compartment drains were blocked, now unblocked. The rear sunroof drains I cannot access without removing sunroof which I will need to do as the sunroof seals are shot. Are there other known drains on the wagon that I am not aware of? Thanks!

Check for rust spots where the hood hinges hide in the firewall. Also underneath the battery is a good spot to rust through and allow water in. You can clean your rear sunroof drains without removing the sunroof. Take some weedeater cable and run it through from the back. As long as they are not too clogged that will free stuff up and then you can flush with a hose from the top.

Don't forget the windshield seal, a bad seal can let water get as far the rear footwells.

rear window also

I need to remove my rear window because of a rust hole under the trim. It lets water into the the hatch which then runs into the car. I opened the hatch after a pretty steady rain and water poured out of the bottom of the hatch where it had rusted through a little.

Thanks! Where are rear sunroof drains located beneath car

The rear sunroof drains actually come out behind the trim in the rear pillar. You have to play around with the weedeater wire to find the hole, but its there.
