Question Where is intake manifold and switchover valve on W201 - 87 190DT

The vehicle has lost its acceleration and I'm trying to locate intake manifold and switchover valve to clean lines to/from ALDA. Is it necessary to remove intake plenum to access ALDA lines? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

In the diesel forum this will get an immediate response.

Follow the small vacuum line from the intake plenum center/top over to the driver's side fender, that is the switchover valve mounted there. The upper line from that switchover valve should lead back to the ALDA on the IP. Clean the fitting on the intake plenum with a wire to ensure it is not clogged, clean the switchover valve with WD-40 or your preference, should flow from bottom to (center) fitting with no 12v (top fitting is a vent).

Thanks Jeff,

I heard to also clean intake manifold? Is that the same as intake plenum and if not where might I find it? Thanks again.

Yes, I say plenum, they say manifold, it's actually both. The crossover tube also, and put a BB in the line to the EGR valve so that it doesn't allow exhaust soot into the intake again.
