Struck Gold?!?!

Today at the Pull-A-Part I came across a 1984 300D. I took a look and it was a non-turbo. Needless to say it had a different injection pump than my turbo 617 does. I grabbed it. Is this the illusive "M-Pump"? I got pictures of it with my cell phone. Sorry for the quality. I know that there are bigger elements for the M-Pump, where can I get a hold of a set? Anyone got any part numbers?

That's the M-Pump alright.

AFAIK, there are no -easy- mods for it apart from the MW pump.
They're handy if you decide to send em off with a huge chunk of change to Europe for mods.

Its way more complicated than that, But if you want Search for "Myna" they modify the M pump for hi-po apps.

was it a euro model...

winmutt 03-17-2009 05:34 PM

Of course it was a euro.....
Go back and pull all the euro parts :)

Bumpers? I want 'em if so please.

ForcedInduction 03-17-2009 09:15 PM

Send it to Myna in Finland, along with $1300, and they'll upgrade it to support 380hp worth of fuel.

DrewGerhan 03-17-2009 10:40 PM

Yeah it was a euro. Not many parts left though. No bumpers or lights. Acc unit was smashed. No trunk triangle. Brand new glow plugs and injectors though. At least they look brand new.

Is it possiblebto just buy the elements and have a shop install them and recalibrate the pump. I don't want to send it to finland. I'd like to do as much of it myself as possible.

winmutt 03-17-2009 10:43 PM

Honestly, the myna pump is a good deal. Any shop is going to charge you $200 just to tune it. Plenty more for a rebuild and then you have to source the elements. These guys are offering what amounts to a good deal even if it comes with a heavy price tag.

DrewGerhan 03-17-2009 10:52 PM

Yeah true.

I don't really know what I want to do with it yet. I want the most power possible from the car. Bottom line. Its going to be more of a hobby car and I'll get another daily driver. I'm planning on a bigger turbo if I increase the fuel. Either from Myna or somewhere else. Maybe a Holset.....?

Updates?

DrewGerhan 01-10-2010 10:51 PM

Sorry, no updates. School started back up again and the pump is in my garage wrapped in plastic. Prolly won't have time or money to do anything until summer at the earliest. Tuition gets expensive pretty quick.

The "M" pump is the 2nd drawing of parts from the top. The top one is what most of us have the "MW" pump

How much are these "M" pumps worth? they seem to be rare.

Didn`t the 60x engines use the "M" Pump?
One of those is a 5 cylinder, would that pump fit on a OM617?

Iam not familiar with the OM60X engines.
