123 euro headlight replacement

After using the search function I couldn't find the answer. When changing a headlight on 123 with euro headlights, is it necessary to remove the lens or just the back? And I guess it's a good idea to replace both at the same time.
thanks
Charlie

light bulbs are replaced from the back, no reason to remove the lens. I usually replace both, they dim over time and the remaining one will not be as bright

Do you mean the metal connecters that the headlight assembly is attached to? What kind of bulbs do you recommend/use?

I just got some blue tint H4 and yellow tint H3 fog ricer bulbs for my W126, now I'm just waiting for the lights to get here.

In my W123 I am just running 55/60 w H4s and 55 w H3 fog bulbs.
