service light reset???
Hi all,
Just renewed the delivery valves and done a service on my 97 w210 e300td (thanks parrot of doom) have looked around and can't find how to reset the service indicator, can anybody enlighten me? Thanks. Paul. |

Its here, and also in your owners manual. Search "FSS reset".
If you don't find it PM me and I'll look in my manual and post it.

Didn't think the '97 had FSS unless you're in Europe/UK...

This should do it on the W210
1. Turn ignition to P2 and then press the Reset button twice within four seconds to get the current FSS display miles listed 2. Turn the ignition key to P1 and then press AND HOLD the reset button while doing 3 3. Turn the ignition to P2 while keeping the reset button pressed in for 10 seconds

The above sounds right.
Remember to keep the front door closed while you do it, or it won't take. Evan - In breif, 97 was the year of the class action lawsuit where there were extended oil change intervals being done using dino oil. The extended interval was retained but using syn oil and effected owners warranties were extended.
