Again excellent pictorial. I have an '81 300SD. The front seat switches both are good but the kids broke off the plastic piece that sticks through the covers and holds the front-to-back button. Then they broke off the ones which hold the back-of-the-seat-slant. I really need the front to back plastic pieces but would like to have all four. Any chance you have a set of these? Hate to think about buying the entire switches when all the rest of the mechanisms is AOK.

Thx.

Bens Lover - I actually found a picture of the hollow plastic piece (not exactly a T as I had described it) that I need. I see four in this picture and they are sitting outside the plastic housing. I do not remember which is which but I need the one which moves the seatback at a slant. In mine the prong which extends outside the housing is broken so I have nothing to push the seat button onto. See picture.

Well, picture would not work because I have posted it before; so it is attached to the post below.

Just a quick note to let you know that in your photos you have two of the black plastic tabs as you call them in the wrong positions. The smaller of the two with the white nipple on top is for the seat back control and it goes at the top of the switch. It took me about an hour to figure this out.

Also, the little toggle you mention as having only "internal function" is actually the headrest toggle, which apparently isn't used on a lot of cars.

Otherwise, thanks for the post, it was a big help!

How do you get the switches OUT?

Your post tells how to repair them, but how do you get the switches OUT to begin with? I don't see any way to release them.

I've lost one dimension of movement in my passenger seat (butt height adjust), and after looking at the madness inside this switch box... will stay that way until more dimensions are lost. An 8 way power seat is now 7, and counting down slowly over time.
