Thats a very blue engine! I wonder if the truck was too heavy for the auto tranny (i am assuming its a benz unit).

went by and checked it out today, but forgot my camera, maybe next week.anyway the engine rag said daimler-benz ag and the number started with either a 114. or a 314. weird looking engine if you ask me.it is a 4 cyl.looking at it from the front on the drivers side there is a tall oil bath type air cleaner,on the side near the top there is a probably 3 inch diameter hose that comes out and goes over the top of the valve cover,it then goes into a cast housing which turns 180 degrees and goes into the top of the valve cover.the inj pimp is on the pass side down low.it also has a pump of some sorts mounted about half way back on the engine on the drivers side.it has a belt that goes to an idler pulley on a shaft that runs forward with a pulley on the end which is belt driven off the front of the crank.the trans has a tower type shifter with a shift handle like the old dodges with the dash board shifter.

I'm betting the battery was not in it when he painted it!
